Art in all media created in the last three years by artists who currently live in the DFW and Greater North Texas region will be accepted. Art that has been included in previous ART214 exhibitions will not be eligible. All concepts and subject matter are welcome. All art should be ready for installation at the time of delivery. Artists whose work requires the use of electronic equipment (DVD players, projectors, computers, etc.) must provide their own equipment.
There are no restrictions on the size of the artwork, but bear in mind that artists are responsible for the transportation of their works and their prompt removal after the show closes. If the scale or complexity of a work of art presents a difficulty, some of the centers will require installation assistance by the artists.
All the ART214 entries will be carefully reviewed by a panel of four esteemed art professionals from the DFW area. The Jurors will be in charge of selecting the artwork that will be featured in each of the five exhibitions displayed in the galleries of the participating venues. After the art has been selected, an independent Curator will be responsible for choosing the location of each work of art and for curating each section of the collective exhibition.
Although this is a joint exhibition, each participating cultural center will display a different show featuring the chosen artwork that is assigned to each gallery by the Curator. Because artists can enter up to two entries for consideration, they will have the potential of showing their selected work in one or two different venues.
The Four Jurors and Curator for the ART214 exhibition are:
SUSAN LECKY – Visual Artist, Curator.
NYCHELLE GRANT –Visual Artist. Producer and Curator of the Urban Chatter art shows.
LUCAS MARTELL – Visual Artist, Adjunct professor at Mountain View College.
ARTHUR PEÑA – Visual Artist, Writer. Visiting Assistant Professor of Drawing and Painting, University of North Texas
The Curator of the four ART214 shows will be DU CHAU, Visual Artist, Curator, Art Lecturer and Adjunct Professor at Brookhaven College.
An entry fee is not required. The Jurors will review photographs of completed artwork and will select pieces for the exhibition. Unfinished artwork will not be reviewed.
Artists may submit up to two works of art for consideration. The exhibition organizers will not accept files submitted on CDs, removable memory sticks, or by e-mail. All the artwork submitted and exhibited in the ART214 exhibition must be completely the applicant’s original idea and creation. Art that infringes somebody else’s intellectual property rights will be disqualified and removed from the exhibition.
All entries must be submitted online at
